Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn

Well Autumn has finally arrived. After a nice few sunny weeks the cold, wet, dark mornings are finally upon us and I finally have to admit that summer is a distant memory and next summer is depressingly far away. It's not all bad, I'm looking forward to cosy jumpers, family walks and winter casseroles but I'm still a Summer girl at heart and will miss the warm sunny days and daylight hours in general!

With the lure of summer days in the garden long gone, I'm hoping I will have more chance to bake over the next few months. Since having my little girl nearly 16 months ago and juggling time between her, my 5 year old son, my 20 year old step daughter, my husband, moving house, a part time job and just life in general, my love for baking has had to be put on the back burner so to speak. I'm looking forward to making cakes for the first time with my daughter (I'm expecting a LOT of mess!) and making my family's favourites Cherry and Almond cake and Fruit Cake Loaf. I'll share the recipes on here and hope you're inspired to try them - I'm sure you won't be disappointed!
