Baby's Big Box of Little Books: Review

My daughter has always loved books from being a baby. She will quite happily sit and occupy herself with a book for ages, she loves looking at the pictures and learning new words. Quite often she will bring you the same books over and over again so when we get new books its nice for us to have a different one to read!

Baby's Big Box of Little Books by Janet and Allen Ahlberg is a little collection of picture books featuring familiar things that all babies and toddlers can relate to. There are nine books in the set: Mornings, Toys, Baby, Inside, Pets, Outside, Games, Family and Night-Times and each chunky book is the perfect size for little hands to hold.

My daughter has really taken to this set of books and we've been reading the Night-times book before bed, she even took it to bed with her last night. I think because she is a bit older and already knows some of the words in the books she enjoys looking through the pages and saying what she recognises, she has even been sharing them with Minnie Mouse! For younger babies the books would be great for helping them to learn about the world around them.

The books are beautifully illustrated by Janet Ahlberg and some have a humorous tone that parents can relate to such as the baby putting building blocks in the fish tank! They're quite indestructible too as my daughter has a habit of bending pages backwards and breaking books but these are quite flexible and can even be stacked as a tower of books and knocked over!
Baby's Big Box of little Books would make a lovely gift for a birthday or christening for babies and toddlers of all ages and are available from Amazon and Waterstones.
