Autumn Bedding

Earlier this year I did a post on our bedroom makeover and I'd finally got some bedding and cushions to finish off the room. Our cream cotton bedding is perfect for Spring/Summer but as we get closer to Autumn and darker, colder nights are drawing in, it's nice to change your bedding to a cosier look and give your bedroom a warmer feel.

Our new checkered duvet set looks warm and cosy in our bedroom and because it's made from brushed cotton it feels thicker and heavier than our other bedding so it's perfect for the colder seasons. Our cushions that matched our cream set also look great with this set so I've not had to replace everything to give the room a new look.

We have also got some new 'feels like down' pillow protectors which are very soft and comfortable, it feels like we have new pillows! We've also got this lovely fleecy pom pom throw which is really cosy and the soft grey colour will complement most colour schemes, it's ideal for an extra layer on the bed or for curling up with on the sofa.

So, can you guess where I got all this lovely bedding from? Even though it looks like it's an expensive set from a top high street chain It's actually from Aldi! They launch their brand new Specialbuys bedding range in stores on the 3rd September but as with all Specialbuys you have to get there quickly as they sell out fast!

The duvet and pillow cases are double sided so we can use either side in our room and it will still match the colour scheme. It also means that if you fold the duvet back to show the reverse side it breaks up the pattern so you don't have to stick with the same look each time you make your bed.

The best thing about the bedding range is the price. The king size duvet set, which includes two pillowcases, is just £14.99 and available in four designs and a range of colours and patterns. The pom pom throw is £8.99 and the Feels Like Down pillow protectors are only £2.79 a pair, which is much cheaper than buying new pillows. There's a lot of choice in the range, from sheets to mattress toppers, so it's worth kitting out your bedroom while it's all still in stock.
