Celebration Cocktails


































It's that time of year where we start thinking of Halloween, Bonfire Night and Christmas, which means party planning for many of us. Whether it's a small family occasion or a big party for all your friends, something you'll definitely need is some party drinks!
Quite often you associate cocktails with summer but there are lots of cocktails which are perfect at any time of year and these cocktails will go down well at any celebration.

Very Cherry

The combination of the cherries and vanilla extracts heighten the fruity flavours of the brandy, making this the ultimate indulgent sweet treat.

Ingredients

20ml Napolean Brandy (£11.39 from Aldi)
10ml cherry juice from frozen cherries
1 teaspoon sugar
1 vanilla pod
175ml Valdobbiadene Prosecco Spumante DOCG (£7.49 from Aldi), as desired

Decoration / to serve:
- Garnish with several frozen cherries on a cocktail stick

Method

- Flavour the sugar by placing the vanilla pod into a sugar pot for a couple of weeks
- Defrost the frozen cherries and squeeze out the juice
- Add the brandy, cherry juice and sugar to a glass and stir until the sugar has dissolved
- Top with prosecco


Pomegranate Punch






















The juicy pomegranate and hint of lemon make this cocktail the ultimate refreshing tipple for your celebration.

Ingredients

25ml Tamova Vodka (£10.39 from Aldi)
20ml lemon juice
2.5 teaspoons of sugar
3 teaspoons fresh pomegranate seeds
Freeman's Bay Marlborough Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc (£9.99 from Aldi), as desired

Decoration / to serve:
- Add a few pomegranate seeds and a piece of lemon zest for garnish

Method

- Add the vodka, lemon juice, sugar and pomegranate seeds to a cocktail shaker
- Stir until the sugar has dissolved and then shake hard over ice
- Pour into an ice filled tall glass
- Top with the sparkling Sauvignon Blanc
